Being the middle child, and only son, residing in the ranks of the Reed clan, allowed Jackson to be coddled in his own right. Though, don't let that idea fool you as Jackson wasn't about to be the easiest child of the bunch to deal with either. He has always been one of those outgoing boys that just wanted to do everything. His mother always found him to be a bit of a troublemaker as a young child, but in an innocent kind of way. His father believed otherwise and tried to put more and more restrictions as he grew older, but for quite some time, Jackson just seemed too stubborn to do anything. To crawl, walk, talk, even to take a bath even, but his mother had always seemed to know just what to say and do. From a kiss on the head and a promise of a cookie to a trip to the park. He was never quite so easy to follow his two sisters into anything. Who wanted to worry about ending up in some incidental tea party they never signed up for anyway? He would rather sit and play alone, color, and above all stay close to his mother. Jackson was just one of those boys that would chase after his mother to tug on her clothes and cry out her name, only show her his latest creation. Not to say that he didn't love his family, he was just closer to his mother.
Being that child that seemed to enjoy the types of things that would keep ones attentions indoors, the family's move to New York never seemed to really phase him. His indoor activities included things such a create model planes, cars, and boats. This is something that he is good at to this very day, but has less time for. It was a move that happened back during that awkward phase in junior high. One that continued on through high school. But, given his size, he wasn't one to be picked on at school. In fact, the basketball coach seemed to have a soft spot for him, but it actually took until his sophomore year for agree to try out for the team. Doing well enough here, he ended up being offered a partial scholarship to the University of Maryland.
College life didn't give Jackson what he felt he was looking for there. Sure, there were interests that could be held outside of his major and the surrounding sorority girls, but that wasn't what he was looking for. Finding out that he wasn't going to qualify for his expected major, it was not a happy time. In this, he turned around and made it into something else. After successfully getting through two full years at the university, he dropped down to a vocational college and still followed the medical area. Not everyone is was quick to return home, mainly because he just could not see himself living in Maryland. New York was now home for him. Heading back home with all the necessary certifications and licensing, everything seemed to go as planned. At least until he met Summer. She was an emergency services operator that everything simply clicked with. Clicked too well as the entire relationship seemed to move hard and fast for the couple.
As time went on in the marriage, things seemed to be doing fine. Just like any other marriage, it had its ups and downs, good times and bad. But all in all? Things felt fine on Jackson's part. He just felt himself missing his younger days and some of the freedoms that it held. Instead, he was working more and spending less time at home. More arguments seemed to spur because of this but he did his best to make due. At some point last month, things simply seemed to finally breakdown. Agreeing to move out, but staying in an apartment close by, Jackson separated from him wife, leading to a divorce that was finalized back in 2011.
Continuing on with work, having a decent house he rents in Irvington, he has learned a lot in the past five years on his own. Family, close friends, and work remain the only real constants in his life and that is something he is more than determined to keep that way.
